Cilhowey cottage

Rent a self catering holiday cottage five miles north of Brecon.

A perfect getaway for riders, walkers, mountain bikers, or for anyone wishing to escape to the countryside. Stabling and grazing is available for horses. We have easy access to the open countryside accessed by a network of bridleways and footpaths as well as Brecon Beacons National Park to our south.

The cottage sleeps five and is set in a quiet and secluded lane. Cilhowey cottage is a converted barn and it provides the perfect retreat after a day’s exercise. It is adjacent to the owners’ farm house where washing and drying facilities are available. By arrangement evening meals can be provided and a local riding instructor can be booked in advance to go on guided rides.

The Brecon Beacons National Park and the Book town of Hay-On-Wye are within 30 minutes easy drive and slightly further afield are the Aberglasney Gardens, The National Museum of Wales sites at Blaenavon and St Fagans. Above all, there is the beautiful countryside in which to walk and ride.

Horses

You are welcome to bring your horses with you and we can offer stabling or grazing depending on your needs. We have detailed instructions on routes and we can also provide a guide to take you on the more complicated routes in the area. The routes will take you through forest land and common land and provide you with stunning views of the Welsh countryside. There are plenty of opportunities for long canters and gallops. We recommend that you bring maps with you of the area to ensure you make the most of your stay.
